Best Overall
The AirPods Pro 2 are the best wireless earbuds you can get right now, especially if you're an iPhone user. They have the best ANC that you'll find anywhere, and they're super comfortable to boot. They'll also click on a MagSafe charging puck.
For
- Much-improved noise cancellation
- Better battery life
- Comprehensively integrated with the Apple ecosystem
Against
- Transparency mode improvements variable
- Better sounding earbuds out there for the price
- Still waiting for a lossless audio solution
Simple and excellent
The Denon AH-C830NCW are some of the best and crucially, most simple in-ear wireless buds out there. We loved how they sounded in our review, and the lack of an app made them a breath of fresh air in ease of use. They're a little chunky, but comfortable as well.
For
- Very well priced
- Well-balanced sound signature
- Simple use, with no app
Against
- They're a little big
- Touch controls
- Case is uncomfortable when put in a pocket
Great alternative
If you love the AirPods Pro 2, but plan on using Apple and Android devices, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 might be a better choice. Featuring a great list of features, these earbuds are new for 2023. They are a premium option that comes with a bigger price, but they are well worth the extra cost.
For
- Improved battery life and Bluetooth range
- Terrific overall sound
Against
- Pricey
- It uses the same Qualcomm chipset as the previous model
- Sounds better on an Android-based smartphone
Master class
The always-styling Master & Dynamic once again hit a home run with the MW08 true wireless earphones. Available in six color combinations, these buds are made of lightweight ceramic and offer Bluetooth 5.2. Battery life is good, with a combined 42 Hours from the buds and the case.
For
- Awesome, modern design
- Impressive battery life
- Unique color choices
Against
- Pricey
- Water-resistance isn't a game-changer
- Fit is not great for active users
Lux choice
For something truly special, consider the Bower & Wilkins P17. Offered in two color combinations, these true wireless earbuds are built for long-term use, offer a nice balanced sound, and look terrific in the ears. They also come with a worthwhile companion app.
For
- Near-perfect sound
- Beautiful design
- Durable smart charger
Against
- Expensively priced
- Noise cancellation is not extraordinary
- Where's the balance?
Budget Brilliance
The 1More Aero are some very comfortable and affordable buds. They feel a little plasticky in hand, but they feature an excellent price, and they look pretty funky too. They also sound brilliant for the price, and they'll last a long time while they're at it.
For
- Interesting and functional case design
- Solid noise-canceling for the price
- Good sound quality
Against
- Feel a bit plasticky
- Touch controls can be finicky
- Bluetooth connection can be spotty
The verdict is in
The AirPods Pro 2 scrape the top of the list, but they are followed in hot pursuit by some of their competitors. The Denon AH-C830NCW are the surprise of the bunch, pulling closely alongside the Apple option with a solid price point and compelling features, while the likes of the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 closing in.
If you're going to get any from this list, I'd humbly suggest looking at the 1More Aero as well. They're very reasonably priced, and you'll be impressed by the sound quality, noise canceling, and overall package. Whichever you choose, however, you're getting some of the best wireless buds out there.
